Deacon Donald L. Niccum Jr.

Deacon Donald L. Niccum knew little to                                       nothing about God, Jesus Christ, or the                                       Holy Spirit, but at the age of 42 I                                                   accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and                                           Savior, my life belongs to Christ. In                                               2013, God clearly said to him get                                                   educated. He asked him if he was not                                         intelligent enough and He replied, not                                         in what I want you to be. In 2013                                                   Deacon Niccum enrolled in                                                             Southwestern Assemblies of God                                                 University attaining a Bachelor of Arts in Church Leadership in 2016, applied to Harrison Graduate School, completed a Master of Arts in Practical Theology in 2108, and began the pursuit of a Master of Divinity with Chaplain Specialization. His formal education has been in obedience to my call even though he thought God had the wrong person. Being called to be a teacher has been enlightening, challenging, and rewarding. It is his wish to do all he can for God and is willing to forgo my very life for it. He stated, “I am but a servant, however, if God chooses me to make change then so be it.” Romans 12:2 says to not be conformed to the ways of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God. Knowing that God is transforming him from who he was to whom he is becoming may seem small to some but to me, it is the greatest testimony of the power of Christ on an undeserving person and he is eternally humbled. The Potter’s Hands are gentle at shaving away the undesirable in each of us, with such love, it boggles the mind to consider it.
